Audible Devices - Back-Up or Motion Alarms:
Back-up alarms and motion alarms are audio device accessories that produce enough sound so that the sound is heard overtop the noises produced from the forklift itself.
The sound produced by the audio device must be distinguishable from other audible devices or noises from the work setting. The sound should also be different from the other noise or audible devices in the work place. The audible device can employee noise exposure and end up contribute to OSHA noise limitation; hence, care must be taken.
Determine the direction and distance the sound of the audible device is made more difficult because of the use of hearing protection. Audible devices could occasionally get disabled from both operators and employees as they can find them annoying. Furthermore, audible devices can also be objectionable to residents in the vicinity.
Additional Application and Operator Options:
Enclosed Operator Cabs: To protect the operator from the elements, enclosed operator cabs made of tempered glass are utilized to help prevent injuries and reduce other concerns. Moreover, these cabs feature an emergency exit via removing the window. Noise levels are lessened at the operator's ear due to additional sound proofing.
Operator Selectable Performance Modes: The operator can choose the performance need for the specific use. Moreover, it enables a supervisor to set the model's maximum performance for an operator who is just learning. Being able to adjust and lessen the maximum performance of the unit allows a new operator to learn the machine's operating characteristics in a controlled environment.
Impact Monitor: When the impact monitor is deactivated, a supervisor is needed to activate and override the model. This encourages the operator to be certain to manage the machine in a more controlled manner.
Panoramic and Dual Rear View Mirrors: These specific mirrors help to assist the operator in observing their tail swing area, and operating space behind the vehicle.
