To make every Hyster equipment safer for the operator as well as the other work place personnel, all Hyster forklifts could be outfitted with many of the standard and optional features. These features comprise: safety lights, audible devices, ergonomic operator compartments and operator restraint systems.



To be able to help alert others of an approaching or nearby lift truck, visual safety devices like strobe lights may help. There is a low-mounted strobe light that includes a shield to help prevent the light shining into the operator's eyes.



Audible warning devices such as reverse operation alarms, which sound automatically when the forklift is in reverse, warn other individuals of the presence of a forklift within the area. A rear drive handle with horn enables the driver's hand to be secure when reversing. This inboard handle protects the driver's hand in case of impact and the handle has a horn which enables the operator to sound the horn without having to move their hand to the main steering wheel.



The operator restraint systems help to keep the operator safe in the event of a lift truck flip over. The restraint system functions by keeping the driver's torso and head in the cab of the lift truck that will help them to prevent serious injury. Anti-Cinch Seat Belt and Hip Restraints are standard features on all types of Hyster/Yale forklifts. For older Yale/Hyster forklifts, safety restraint systems are available for installation on nearly all units.



The Hyster StanDrive E30-40HSD2 series of forklifts provides superb ergonomics. Available in 4,000 or 3,000 pound capacities, these forklifts are durable and versatile, as well as ergonomically designed to enhance driver comfort and enhance productivity. In order to increase operator visibility and comfort, the controls allow the operator to stand in side-stance or at 45 degrees.
