SMAG is a German corporation and world leader in the design and manufacture of Peiner Buckets and Grapples. Our manufacturing line is comprised of mechanical motor grabs, hydraulic lifting machinery, electro-hydraulic motor grabs, a range of other types of specialized lifting machinery and single rope radio control grabs.



To date, Peiner has supplied more than 75,000 models across the world. Our unique grabs deal with a range of materials from cement, iron ores, fertilizers, coke, refuse and scrap, among a variety of other things. Our many years of experience in developing high quality products and the overall designing process helps to allow our customers receive the proven technology their diverse applications need.



SMAG/Peiner has been represented by Peiner USA, Inc. for more than 12 years in the US market place. Various industries such as Scrap Handling, Steel Mills, Waste to Energy, as well as numerous other material handling facilities including Bulk Transfer Facilities presently utilizing our grabs and buckets to accomplish their tasks.



Peiner's design philosophy has continually revolved around the idea of producing grabs that deal with the biggest volume as opposed to grab dead weight. Typically, the grab and bucket lifting ratio's meaning that 60 percent of material is dead weight vs. 40 percent grab dead weight. This means moving more quantities of supplies faster. There is less wear and tear on the structure of the crane and its related components. Through a combination of manufacturing with high quality materials and innovative design, the desirable weight ratio is attained.



Grab sizes would vary from 1 cubic yard or less to over 50 cubic yards in order to suit the needs of the client. Peiner USA Inc. additionally offers a complete spare parts facility and service facility for the models sold within the USA, as well as the addition of new grabs and buckets.
