Man Lift Designs
On the market today, there is a wide array of articulating lifts, with many types of lifts to fit each circumstance, application and work venue. There are some manufacturers who specify in lifts for dangerous environments such as underground tunnel situations, petro-chemical plants, and other places where there is a danger of dust or explosive gases, for example in grain-processing plants.
Several lifts have been mounted to large flatbed trucks or onto the back of pickup trucks or onto trailers. There are models that incorporate articulating booms that can be self-propelled and are controlled by the lift operator, while others have the ability to pivot 360 degrees.
There are outdoor and indoor lift models. They come in both 2-wheel and 4-wheel powered options. In several cases, the platforms are adjustable and several types of lifts have baskets where the worker stands. These platforms or baskets are adjustable and allow the workers to remain level or swing into location, depending on what the operator should finish the task. There are some platforms and baskets that come wired in order to allow the operator to plug tools in as required.
